Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), New Delhi

The busiest airport of not only just India but Asia for many years, IGI Delhi caters to a vast number of domestic and international passengers each day. It has 3 terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 & Terminal 3. Terminal 3 has mostly international and some domestic flights, terminal 2 has domestic flights only whereas terminal 1 also has mostly domestic flights. While the management of air traffic is good, you feel the pinch of the congestion with delays in departure and arrival on almost all of the flights and on busy days (weekends and holidays), both terminal 1 and 2 feels more like a bus stand rather than airport. If you are flying through IGI, our advice would be to stick to flights from terminal 3 by paying a bit more and select a day other than weekends or holiday.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai

The second busiest airport of India behind IGI airport in Delhi, this airport does a better job in managing things even though both are under Adani management only. The greet and meet service, Pranaam by Adani airport is lacking. After paying close to a ticket cost just for their service, we were disappointed to find no one at airport for us. We had to look out for them rather than them looking out for us. And then the airport is super crowded but well managed. Apart from the disappointment of Pranaam service, everything else felt smooth. Mumbai airport has 2 terminals, terminal 1 and terminal 2 and services at both including lounge is good.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata

One of the oldest and modern airports of India, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport is a major hub for transiting to rest of the Asia and further. The best part we liked most about this airport that it has only one integrated terminal so you don’t need to worry about going to wrong terminal as well as transiting from one terminal to another if you have a connecting flight. Other than that, airport is super modern with all facilities and a lot of aerobridges so you hardly board a bus for boarding and just walk in to your aircraft directly via aerobridge.
